This is because Advanced drivers / riders are trained to approach all road hazards in a systematic way using the Police System of Car and Motorcycle Control. The 'System' as it is called, comprises 5 phases:

  • Information
  • Position
  • Speed
  • Gear
  • Acceleration.

The Advanced driver / rider controls the vehicle by developing a driving / riding plan that puts the System into practice. The key elements of the driving / riding plan are;

  • Concentration
  • Observation
  • Anticipation
