How to qualify
To become an Advanced driver / rider you could apply directly to the IAM, pay your test fee and sit the test, however, you are unlikely to pass unless you have had some preparation.
This is achieved by becoming an Associate Member of an IAM Affiliated Group, such as Carlisle Advanced Motorists.
You are then given guidance from your Observer (a person who has passed the Advanced test and is qualified to help others do the same).
Once you have passed the test, you are eligible for full Membership of the IAM.
